Paid Advertorial Pitches 10% GHK-Cu Serum, But the Full Ingredient List Isn't Published

A paid advertorial distributed through Newswire promotes Copper Snap, a facial serum built around a brand-stated 10% GHK-Cu concentration paired with SNAP-8. The piece discloses upfront that it is promotional, that a commission is earned on purchases, and that product claims come from the brand rather than independent testing.

GHK-Cu is a naturally occurring copper-binding peptide, described by the brand as associated with collagen and elastin pathways. SNAP-8, sold under the INCI name Acetyl Octapeptide-3, was developed by Lipotec as an elongated version of the peptide known as Argireline and is marketed for the appearance of expression lines.

The number doing the work

The headline figure is 2,000 mg of GHK-Cu in a 20 mL bottle, which the brand states is a 10% concentration. The advertorial notes that copper peptide serums on the broader market are commonly sold closer to 1% to 5%, so a 10% formula, if accurate, would sit well above that range.

That "if accurate" is carrying weight. No Certificate of Analysis or third-party lab result appears on any of the pages the advertorial says it reviewed, and the comparison to competitors at 1% to 2% is the brand's own, not an independently verified benchmark.

What the brand does not publish

The product page names two active peptides and states there are no filler ingredients, but it does not publish a complete INCI list. Every liquid serum needs a base, a preservative system and stabilizers, and none of those are disclosed, which means anyone with a known cosmetic sensitivity has nothing to screen against.

Pricing runs $139 for one bottle, $179 for two and $229 for three, all discounted against a $179 per-bottle reference price the brand set itself. Returns are limited to unopened bottles within 30 days, and the published policy does not say who pays return shipping on a standard return.

Where the evidence sits

No clinical trial on Copper Snap itself was found in the materials reviewed. The peer-reviewed literature cited, a 2018 review by Pickart and Margolina in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences, examines GHK-Cu as an ingredient class in work unrelated to this product.

The SNAP-8 data is manufacturer-originated, unpublished in any peer-reviewed journal and not independently replicated. The advertorial also flags that the widely circulated percentage attached to that study is a maximum single-subject result rather than the group outcome.

Bottom line

Cosmetics do not go through FDA premarket approval, which is normal for the category rather than specific to this product. What remains unsettled is the concentration claim, the rest of the formula, and why checkout runs through a sports-nutrition company that does not list the serum in its own catalog.
